Stacey Byrnes

Stacey Byrnes, CEO & Founder

Stacey has been creating and managing customer reference marketing programs for high technology companies since 1995. Excelling at creative planning, Stacey’s signature is bringing the voice of the customer to the forefront of marketing and public relations campaigns for a variety of high technology companies. She has customer reference and public relations experience on the corporate side, as well as the agency side. Attention to detail, managing programs on time, on budget, and making clients smile with satisfaction are essential in her books. Her clients have included HP, Adobe, Claris, Intel, Red Hat and Apple Computer. Stacey earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.

Hugh Scholey, President

Hugh is a business leader and veteran communications and marketing consultant with a passion for customer stories. Known for his people-first approach to operations, he has built and run high-performance teams that have won awards for his clients, his workplace, and individually for his leadership. He has been a journalist, a PR and marketing strategist, and an independent business consultant. As SVP and Partner at High Road Communications, owned by the Omnicom Group, he ran one of Omnicom’s most successful PR agencies. Hugh’s work providing strategic direction includes companies such as Microsoft, LG Electronics, D&B, Disney, and Telus. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario.

Donna Bekier

 

Donna Bekier, Project Manager

Donna has 21 years of high-tech experience, including five years at Digital Equipment Corp. as a marketing specialist profiling new customer wins and 16 years working with HP/Compaq customer reference programs. She has worked with HP’s sales force across the company to investigate and qualify hundreds of candidates for customer case studies. Donna earned her Associate of Science degree from Becker College and completed coursework towards a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Bentley College.

Suzanne Cochran, Project Manager

Suzanne is a high tech industry veteran of 20 years, including 12 years at Hewlett Packard in sales and marketing, with the last seven years focused on customer reference marketing. Her experience prior to high tech includes retail management. Suzanne has applied all of her work experience and knowledge in sales, marketing, and communication to manage a variety of teams throughout her career including sales, marketing and technical groups. Known as a goal-oriented and highly organized team player, Suzanne is doggedly persistent in the pursuit of programs, driving them successfully to completion on time. Suzanne earned her Bachelor Degree in Marketing from California State University, Chico. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis, paddle boarding, Pilates, yoga, spending time at the beach and with her family.


Brian Duggleby

Brian Duggleby, Project Manager

Brian is a high-tech marketing veteran with 30 years of experience, 14 years of which was invested with Compaq and Digital Equipment Corp. in marketing and marketing communications. At Digital and Compaq, Brian gained extensive experience with both external and internal marketing programs, product marketing, PR, and managing customer reference activities. Brian secured his Master’s degree from State University of New York at Brockport and his Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University.

Gabrielle Friedly, Project Manager

Gabrielle has over 15 years of high-tech marketing and communications experience, including public relations, customer reference and advocacy programs. After starting her career on the agency side of public relations, she moved to head up corporate communications for a start-up called Buzzsaw.com. When Buzzsaw.com was acquired by Autodesk in 2001, she spent more than a decade there working on various global customer reference programs ranging from small business to enterprise and spanning across industries such as manufacturing, media and entertainment and architecture.  For the past several years, she has provided customer reference support to Ventyx and several groups at Autodesk, where she worked with customers such as Porsche, Joy Global and Ramboll Group. Gabrielle earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, perusing farmer’s markets and long distance cycling.

Steve Fritz, Marketing Consultant

Steve Fritz is a high tech industry marketing leader who consistently delivers high-impact launches and program management, content strategy and development, and messaging and communications leading to market acceptance and technology adoption. Most recently he managed a key launch for Avaya into an important new market, resulting in the best launch in company history. He spent 12+ years at Sun Microsystems in corporate marketing and PR, and in BU marketing (Sun Microelectronics and Enterprise Systems). Since leaving Sun in 2006 he has been a Senior Marketing Consultant at Cisco, VMware, eMeter/Siemens, SAP and at various small enterprise software companies.


Kim Glover

Kim Glover, Marketing Consultant

Kim has over 15 years experience in project management with customer reference programs including marketing communications, product launches, and campaign support for high tech companies. Previously the operations manager at Byrnes, Kim assisted the company growth with talent acquisition, new client pitching, and development and execution of organizational strategies, policies, and practices. Now focusing on consultancy, Kim continues to bring her expertise with business strategy, building effective customer reference marketing programs, and maintaining strong team and customer relations. Kim earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and a minor in Communication from Simon Fraser University.

Celia has been a Marketing Communications professional for over 20 years working with Fortune 50/100 companies and nonprofits. She has extensive experience in go-to-market strategy and execution, marketing program development and management, and outbound and internal communications. Celia lives, works and plays in San Francisco, California.


Carleen LeVasseur

Carleen LeVasseur, Project Manager

Carleen has spent more than 25 years in public relations developing communications programs for companies large and small. She has a unique talent for working with the media across a range of markets, including consumer, education, business, financial, publishing, government and entertainment. She spent nine years in corporate PR positions at Apple, Intel, EDS, and MIPS Computer Systems, serving as key spokesperson and strategist on a variety of corporate communications matters, and more than a decade servicing clients on the agency side. Over the years, Carleen has launched and promoted products and services that range from hardware, software and microprocessors to Internet services, gadgets and solutions.


Phil (and Murphy)

Philip May, Project Manager

Phil’s passion is around helping clients with the development of their business strategies, and then helping execute those strategies to achieve measurable business benefits. This may involve strategic planning, marketing, sales, business development, channel development, or strategic alliances. Phil’s experience spans 15-years at Hewlett Packard including sales, marketing and strategic alliances, where he was Worldwide GM of the Oracle Alliance. Before that he worked at numerous high-tech companies both in the US and the UK including Apollo Computer, Silicon Graphics and several start-up software companies. Keen to develop his entrepreneurial spirit, Phil founded a retail sales company specializing in high-tech products to the recreational vehicle industry and after 5 years of year-on-year growth, sold the business. As a consultant, Phil continues to bring his unique mix of strategic planning and “down-to-earth” practical experiences to support the needs of various clients.


SoHanna Park Minami

SoHanna Park Minami, Project Manager

SoHanna has over 20 years in high-tech and non-profit marketing and communications, including 17 years of agency and corporate PR experience. After starting her career on the agency side of marketing, she moved to work in the corporate environment at Tandem/Compaq and other high-tech companies. Her PR experience with both start-up and high profiled clients lead her to work on various customer reference programs, including Sun Microsystems’ and Hewlett-Packard’s programs. For the past eight years, she has provided PR support to California’s largest children’s services agency, EMQ FamiliesFirst. Her clients have included Apple Computer, Claris, Cisco, Donna Davis Designs, EMQ FamiliesFirst, Legato Systems, Postini, Power Computing and Unix Systems Laboratories. SoHanna earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Santa Clara University. In her spare time she enjoys Pilates, yoga, snow skiing with her family, golf, dancing the hula and listening to Hawaiian music.


Eileen Quinn

Eileen Quinn, Project Manager

Eileen has more than 20 years of high technology public relations and marketing experience in both agency and corporate settings, with a long track record for placing key stories in top notch business publications and on national networks. Eileen’s customer reference experience spans from Compaq to Informatica, where she helped bring a fledgling programs to prominence. As a highly organized project manager, Eileen delights in delivering projects on-time, on-budget, and to the complete satisfaction of the client. Eileen earned and Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach with minors in English and Marketing. In her spare time Eileen enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys hiking, running, swimming and biking.


Fontaine Roberson

Debra Redmond, Project Manager

Debra Redmond has more than 30 years of experience in corporate, executive and marketing communications for Fortune 500 companies in high technology, consulting services, financial institutions and real estate services.  These organizations include Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Hewlett Packard, EMC, Cisco, Seagate, and strategic partnerships with IBM and HP.  Today, Debra focuses on customer engagement programs for the global Data Center Infrastructure Group of HPE.  Her experience with HPE includes projects and programs for Storage, Big Data, Vertica, Internet of Things, Corporate and others.  For EMC and Cisco, Debra focused on internal and executive communications as well as customer loyalty initiatives.  She has a broad background and successful track record in business-to-business communications including project management, development and implementation of marketing communications programs, brand management, collateral development, public relations, special events management, media relations and new business development initiatives.  Debra earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from California State University Northridge.  A native of Southern California, she lived in Chicago, New York, London and the Silicon Valley.

Fontaine Roberson, Project Manager

Fontaine’s individual clients have included Apple Computer, Cisco, The Learning Company, and Adobe. She has 20 years of high-tech marketing communications experience, including agency public relations, website copywriting, executive speaker programs, and project management for web content development. Fontaine earned her Master of Arts in English from The University of Kentucky.

Meridith Scott, Project Manager

Meridith brings over 27 years of marketing expertise to her clients at Byrnes Communications. With corporate and agency experience, she has worked with AT&T, Avaya, GS1 US, Verizon Wireless and other high-tech companies. She is especially passionate about creating and managing customer reference programs and helping professionals share their amazing stories. Meridith cherishes her longtime client relationships and continuously looks for ways to bring fresh ideas that will get the results her clients need. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Oklahoma State University and a Masters in Business Administration degree from NYU. Meridith makes her home in Tewksbury, New Jersey, with husband, Joe, and their daughters, Mary Ann and Susan.

Sandy Smith, Project Manager

Sandy has 25 years of full-service public relations experience, both from the agency and client side. She has served clients in a variety of industries – business electronics, high-tech, musical instruments, live theatre companies, video games, and more. Because of her years representing Temcor, the world’s largest aluminum dome builder, she now knows more about clear-span aluminum domes than the average girl. A particular point of pride was getting her client’s vibrating video game vest onto Al Roker on The Today Show. Her clients have included Toshiba, Yamaha, Theatre at Boston Court, Aura Systems, and EMQ FamiliesFirst. Sandy has a black belt in Shotokan karate, is a Girl Scout leader, and spends as much time as possible in the outdoors with her husband and two teenage kids camping, hiking, skiing, and backpacking.

Courtney Struthers, Project Manager

Courtney Struthers has a decade of technology marketing experience in both commercial and consumer markets. Her areas of expertise are customer reference programs, product launches, and alliance management. She has worked with clients including HP, Intel, Microsoft, and Dell; in her last role at HP, she developed marketing plans to drive the joint HP/Microsoft business for consumer products. Courtney earned her Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside and her Masters in Nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health.  She is passionate about communicating how technology can positively impact businesses and consumers.

Most recently, Donna was the Customer Reference Manager at Symantec Corporation in corporate marketing and was the Content Manager and Senior Communications Specialist in global marketing.  As the Operations Manager at Byrnes, Donna assists in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices. In her free time, Donna enjoys reading, pilates, day trips around California, and spending time with family and friends.

A former director of marketing communications for Motorola, Chris holds an M.S. from Boston University and some of the clients he has developed content for include IBM, Lucent, Progress Software, Acme Packet, Eucalyptus Software, RSA, McAfee, IDG, McKinsey, Compaq, Earthlink, Juniper, and Ciena.

Allen’s career features 20 years in the publishing world, including marketing writing for HP, IBM, Symantec and Dell, as well as award-winning multimedia and web content as a Palo Alto-based journalist. Clapp also produces songs, sound recordings, and background music for commercial clients, including the Coca Cola Company, Target, Samsung and others. Allen earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of California Berkeley.

Jason Drury is a seasoned graphic design professional and Art Director. He has worked within corporate in-house and agency teams as a design lead and brand manager. During this time he has had the pleasure of working in many different industries, such as high-tech, automobile, food, and hospitality. As a multi-media designer Jason has experience in many mediums, but he specializes in digital design and brand management. He offers these and other services out of his studio, where he continues his passion for design today.


JudyAnn Dutcher

JudyAnn Dutcher, Graphic Designer

Thirteen years of print and web experience, including nine years of HP success story layout and design, contribute to JudyAnn’s design acumen. Her print work has included logos, corporate identity, newsletters, advertisements, and directories. JudyAnn’s web work features e-commerce, brochure, membership, and content management sites. JudyAnn earned her Bachelor of Arts from The University of California Riverside, an M.S. from San Jose State University, and her design certifications from The University of California Santa Barbara.

For 30 years, James has written customer case studies, brochures, marketing white papers, PowerPoint presentations, e-mail promotions, speeches/scripts, trade show collateral, web content, and more. Working with the HP lineage (HP, Compaq, Digital) since 1992, he has also developed content for Intel, AT&T Wireless, Accenture, NetCracker Technology Corp. (NEC), and others. Previously James was employed by Boston Technology, Inc. (Comverse Network Systems), Wang Laboratories, and QEI, Inc. (CG Automation). He holds a bachelor of arts in English from Lafayette College of Easton, Penn.

Linda has managed marketing communications projects, executive and complete product line photo shoots. Alan received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Boston University.

Stacy was formerly employed as a Russian Cryptologic Linguist at the National Security Agency, and she held several marketing positions at HP. Stacy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University.
